We had our inaugural NewMan Cover Girl Search Party at Zouk last Friday, August 10, and it was a blast! After some hectic months of searching for the hottest babes in Singapore, and making the difficult decision of eliminating all but the finest 24, we had to make our toughest choice yet by picking the final six girls to grace our September cover. These six were finally unveiled at the party last week to a very appreciative invitation-only audience made up of our readers and close friends. I could tell you who won now but I'm going to keep those who don't know in suspense because I'm cruel like that. But really, I think you'd be better off picking up our September issue once it hits the newstands this weekend. Trust me, you'll get to see more of the six cover girl winners than you'd ever thought possible-I still get goosebumps thinking about the rather steamy photo shoot...
But back to party. We really want to thank the hair and makup teams that helped support the event by making sure all the girls looked fantastic for the show: NEXT (271A Holland Avenue S278991 Tel: 64673323/64683323) and MAKING FACES (Sandy Ho Tel:90055210 www.makingfaces.com). We also want to thank Rosli, our choreographer for the show, for working his magic on the girls' catwalk segments; and Zouk for throwing a helluva party. Last and definitely not least, we want to thank the girls themselves for lending themselves and their bodies to our cause, being so patient and understanding when we needed them to sacrifice their time and energy, and for sticking with us from the start to the finale despite the inconveniences. You're really a great bunch of girls and we had a good time hanging out with all of you. Personally, I expect great things from you and on my end, I'll be working to make sure it's not the last the public will see or hear from you either. For those who won, congratulations and we hope we helped materialise your dreams. For the rest, keep your chins up, you're all cover girls in your own right and you have to know, it was honestly heartwrenching for us that we could only pick six. Know that I always only ever had your best interests in mind, and though I couldn't always please everyone, I hope you know I did the best I could. Thanks for everything.
